Alsace and Burgundy Wine Dinner

On Thursday 22 March, we are delighted to invite you to our next wine dinner. Join us for an entertaining evening sampling some of the most iconic wines from the Alsace and Burgundy regions of France.

Our regular wine expert Simon Hadden will guide you through the evening, with a history of the Schlumberger and Faiveley Domaines, explaining why each wine pairs perfectly with the accompanied dish. 

Executive Head Chef, Steve Munkley, shall be creating a delectable four course menu to pair with these excellent wines:

Pinot Gris, les Prince Abbes, Domaine Schlumberger, Alsace 2015. 

Riesling, les Princes Abbes, Domaine Schlumberger, Alsace 2014.

Mercurey 'la Framboisiere', Domaine Faiveley, Burgundy 2016.

Nuits Saint Georges, Domaine Faiveley, Burgundy 2014.

Gewurztraminer, Grand Cru Kessler, Domaine Schlumberger, Alsace 2014.

This event is subject to availability. It includes wine tasting and a four course dinner. The event will take place on Thursday 22 March starting at 19.00. The experience is priced at £75.00 per person. Deposit required to guarantee the booking.

Domaines Schlumberger was founded in 1810 and is one of France's largest and finest domaines. Seven generations since the start of the family, Schlumberger now own 130 hectares of vineyard, 70 of which are qualified as Grand Cru.

For more than 180 years the love of wine has been passed on from one Faiveley generation to the next. Now run by Erwan Faiveley, one of the youngest directors of a Burgundy domaine on record, the Faiveley family now owns a total of 125 hectares across 16 villages.  

The specially selected menu contains dishes such as a 30 hour braised Jacobs ladder of Scotish beef and dry aged fillet with smoked mash, crispy cabbage, glazed shallots and sprouting broccoli.
