What to do with your family in London in winter

Planning family days out can often feel like a military-style operation, but when you have everything that London has to offer, it can be relatively simple to find something to do with your loved ones.
With a plethora of world-class museums, the capital is a brilliant place to take your younger family members during the school holidays or even at the weekends.

The Science Museum is a particularly good place to start if you are looking for something a little more exciting to do this winter. With exhibitions such as the 'Birth of Space Age' and 'Leonardo da Vinci: The Mechanics of Genius', it is a fantastic place to both educate and entertain people of all ages.

At the Natural History Museum, visitors can get one step closer to nature and the many wonders the world has to offer. From exhibitions led by Sir David Attenborough himself, to a variety of interesting activities aimed at helping guests understand more about the natural world, this attraction has everything you need to entertain the whole family. If museums aren't your idea of a day well spent, there is plenty more to see and experience during your time in London.

Buckingham Palace is one of the most popular attractions for visitors, while the famed Madame Tussauds also offers a great day out for the whole family.

With many other key sights - including the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye - it's easy to see why so many tourists choose to visit the city each year.
However, taking your family around a busy and bustling capital city may not be the best way to relax with your loved ones, especially if you have younger family members. Luckily, there are beautiful boroughs across London, which allow you to have a good day out without having to battle with the crowds.
Kensington is just one of these places. With three exciting museums, enchanting gardens and plenty of restaurants to eat at, it is the perfect destination for your next family day out.

The Natural History Museum is located on South Kensington's Cromwell Road, which is just a short walk from the Royal Garden Hotel along Kensington High Street.
For the Science Museum on Exhibition Road, guests at the hotel can access the museum via Queen's Gate and Imperial College Road.
