Life can get a little hectic, and this can make it difficult to spend time with those who love you the most. This is especially important as Mother Day approaches, as you want to show your appreciation to those who have looked after you throughout your life.

Whether you want to thank your mum, step-mum, or someone else who has adopted this role in your life, Mothering Sunday can be a brilliant excuse to spend quality time with your loved ones.

There's nowhere better to take a special weekend away than London. With a diverse range of activities and a whole host of restaurants celebrating cuisines from all around the world, you're sure to find something that makes her feel truly spoilt.

So what are the best ways to treat your mum in London?

If your mum is a fan of fashion, recent history or the Royal family, then London is a spot like no other. Kensington Palace is currently hosting an exclusive exhibition about the fashion of Princess Diana.

The display will look at how the Princess of Wales' style evolved throughout her public life. From her first official appearances to the glamourous and stylish outfits she wore in later life, you'll be able to get a personal view on how Diana used fashion throughout her time as a Royal. This is a unique opportunity to get close to some of the most famous garments in the Royal family history, such as the gowns she wore to the White House, and should not be missed!

While you're here, you should take the time to explore the beautiful Kensington Gardens with your mum. Enjoy a gentle stroll around its stunning surroundings, including the iconic Serpentine Lake, and it's all completely free. Why not then join us at our hotel for a delicious Sunday roast to round off the day?

If your mum enjoys nothing more than relaxing of an evening with a glass of wine, then why not treat her to one of the many restaurants in London that take this past-time very seriously? The award-winning Clos Maggiore has an extensive list of exclusive wines, and food that is beautifully paired with it. At this London institution you can try more than 2,500 wines from 18 different countries and vintages that span more than four centuries. If you are wanting something truly special, its Coravin preservation means that you can experience and taste rare and inaccessible wines by the glass.

For something a little more relaxed, the Winemakers Club in Central London allows you to shop, drink or a combination of the two! With walls stocked high with some of the finest wines in the world, you'll be spoilt for choice, as everything you can see can be bought by the glass. There's also a delicious choice of meat and cheese plates to accompany your drink of choice.

You've probably shared quite a few biscuits with your mum over a cup of tea, so why not get creative with this well-loved British treat?

The Biscuiteers offer icing classes where you and your mum can decorate your own biscuits at either their Notting Hill or Northcote Road Boutiques. You'll get provided with all the biscuits, icing and edible decorations you need to make your beautiful creations. When you've finished, you'll be presented with your biscuits in a gift box so you can safely take them home.
