Top spots for dinner in Kensington

You won't need to stray far from the Royal Garden Hotel to find great places to eat.

If you're going to be travelling to London on business, Kensington affords the dual benefits of a convenient central location, and a host of great places to dine out. Should you find yourself with an evening or two to occupy during your stay at the Royal Garden Hotel, these restaurants are all excellent choices for filling your time and your stomach.

Min Jiang
Occupying the tenth floor of the Royal Garden Hotel, Min Jiang offers you authentic Chinese dining without even having to step outside the hotel. Providing stunning panoramic views across Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park and the capital's skyline, this is a restaurant where the surroundings are just as impressive as the food itself. Particularly worth trying are the Beijing duck (Min Jiang's signature dish), the excellent selection of dim sum and the fabulous cocktails. Il Portico
Located at 227 Kensington High Street, Il Portico is London's longest running family restaurant, now in the third generation of the Chiavarini family. Here, you can enjoy traditional Italian dining at its very best. Expect succulent meat dishes, flavoursome pasta and tempting desserts - all served in charming surroundings.

Balans has several locations in London; you will find the nearest to the Royal Garden Hotel at 187 Kensington High Street. Its modern, trendy menus make it a great place for fun gourmet, global cuisine, while its fantastic cocktail menu offers plenty of treats that will no doubt be very welcome after a long working day.

Restaurant Serving excellent Indian fare is Zaika Restaurant, which you will find at 1 Kensington High Street. Its location overlooking Kensington Gardens, paired with its beautifully decorated interior, make this an elegant and exciting place to eat. Of course, the food itself is the star of the show.
The beauty of Zaika is that it mixes traditional and contemporary Indian cooking to create some truly sublime dishes. A real treat for fans of Indian cuisine.
