LONDON: THE PERFECT FATHER'S DAY TREAT
Dads hold a very special place in our lives, meaning that each June you want to make him feel loved. However, if he doesn't have any specific hobbies or is just vague about present ideas, finding something appropriate can be a challenge.
If you're stuck for ideas this year (June 18th), then why not plan a trip to make your dad feel loved? Of course, there are fantastic cities all over the UK but, if you really want to impress, there's nowhere like London.
Here are three things that will suit dads down to the ground, so you're sure to find something yours will love:
If your dad is a sports fan, then you have probably bought him all the memorabilia he could need. So why not do something a little more spectacular? Some of the most incredible stadiums in the world are in London. Whether your dad supports one of the clubs based in the city or not, these are incredible feats of architecture and sporting history that you won't want to miss.
Current Premier League title holders Chelsea have an awe-inspiring home ground at Stamford Bridge. Whether you want to treat your dad to an entire day out, with lunch included, or just want him to be able to look around this iconic ground, ticket options allow you to find the perfect present for your dad.
Of course, we're lucky enough to have more than one world-class team that calls London home. From Tottenham Hotspur's brand new ground to Arsenal's home at the Emirates, there are a variety of options for you if your dad loves his football. There are also family tickets available at many of these venues so no one needs to be left out!
If you dad isn't into sport, don't panic. London is bursting with fun things to see and do that are bound to be up his street. Although you may not think of it straight away, the city has a variety of fantastic comedy clubs that are bound to provide the perfect night out for you and your dad.
Everyone enjoys a good laugh and some of the best names in comedy come to London, as well as rising talent. If you don't want to have to pay much for a ticket, then head straight to Angel Comedy. The club is somewhat of an institution for locals, and one of the few completely free shows still around. With two venues and shows on almost every night, you're sure to find something you and your dad will enjoy.
The Comedy Store near Piccadilly Circus is a thriving club in the heart of London, showing multiple shows a week. Wednesday and Sunday see improv geniuses Comedy Store Players take to the stage, while the weekend sees some of the best comedians perform their latest routines.
Another great option for Father's Day is to treat your dad to some drinks from the incredible breweries in London.
Settled right on the canal, Crate Brewery combines great views with a wide selection of beer and even a pizzeria. You and your dad can enjoy a pint or two on a two-hour tour where you will learn about what you're drinking, as well as tasting it for yourself.
For a more relaxed atmosphere, take your dad to Camden Town Brewery, which combines their well-known beer with fantastic fresh food. You can sample any of their six beers that are served all year round, as well as the limited-run brews. Step outside, and you'll find a variety of street food chefs serving up their very finest produce.
