Honest Mum's top family-friendly fun

Summer is here, the kids are off school and it’s time to discover all that London has to offer. Check out multi-award winning resident blogger Vicki of Honest Mum’s top family-friendly things to do in the city.

V&A Museum of Childhood Summer Camps - 31 July to 4 August

With two exciting summer camps, the Secret Museum DIY Film Collective with Albert Potrony (Age 8-11) and Bringing Stories to Life with Sara Byers (Age 5-10), kids will be getting creative at a museum dedicated to them. With an opportunity to create sets, characters, props, costumes and 3D sculptures, this will keep little creative minds busy.

Kensington Palace Family Fantastical - 18 to 20 August

An exclusive family event at Kensington Palace where the English National Ballet will perform a version of Sleeping Beauty from their My First Ballet Series. The Science Museum will also perform a greatest hits of their awe-inspiring shows. Unmissable.

Serpentine Lido - UNtil September

Located in Hyde Park, there is a gated family area with a chlorinated paddling pool, sandpit, swings, changing area as well as a private space that you can sunbathe in, and a cafe close by. Fun for all the family.

Gangsta Granny at Garrick Theatre - 26 July to 3 September

Situated at the Garrick Theatre after an extensive UK tour. "It's Friday night and Ben knows that means only one thing - staying with Granny! There will be cabbage soup, cabbage pie and cabbage cake and Ben knows one thing for sure - it's going to be sooooooooo boring! But what Ben doesn't know is that Granny has a secret - and Friday nights are about to get more exciting than he could ever imagine, as he embarks on the adventure of a lifetime with his very own Gangsta Granny!"

We're going on a bear hunt - Throughout august

Taking place at Cadogan Hall this is a firm family favourite, suitable for children under 5. Join their intrepid family and musical dog on adventures in search of a bear, in Michael Rosen's classic.

Sensational Butterflies - until 17 september

An exhibition at the National History Museum, head to the butterfly house and hang out with hundreds of beautiful butterflies and moths. With species ethically sourced from Central and South America, Africa and Asia, come and follow the trail through a tropical habitat of flowers, vines and foliage. Prepare to be dazzled by butterflies.

Kidzania - All year

Located in Shepherd’s Bush, this day out offers children a chance to play our adult roles as firefighters, police officers, journalists, fashion designers, shop assistants and more in a town dedicated to imaginative play.

With Kensington Gardens and three world-class museums in walking distance, our hotel's location makes it the perfect base for a family break.

Our welcoming environment means children feel right at home from the moment they arrive, while ensuring parents get the 5-star luxury they deserve.
