Honest Mum's Top 5 Romantic London Activities

London is one of the most romantic cities in the world so if you’re planning a romantic break in the capital or need some date-inspo then check out my tips.

The Royal Garden Hotel

Retreat to the luxury 5 star Royal Garden Hotel for a romantic break with your loved one to chill out, order delicious room service if you so wish and take in the achingly beautiful views of Kensington Gardens. The renowned Park Terrace restaurant on the ground floor has seen some marriage proposals in its time, so do consider it if you want to pop the question!

The Shard

When it comes to pretty views that will melt your heart, head for a candlelit dinner at the Aqua Shard Restaurant and Bar for quirky and cutting-edge British cuisine, on the 31st floor of Western Europe’s tallest building The Shard. Uber-romantic!

Little Venice

Stroll around this Italian-inspired slice of London, not far from Paddington. On a sunny day enjoy the nearby decorative house-boats, coffee shops and restaurants. Enjoy authentic Chinese food at Pearl Liang or sophisticated seafood at Summerhouse. You can even have a splash at canoeing or take a river cruise if you fancy it while you’re there.

Electric Cinema, Portobello

The most romantic cinema you’ll ever visit, this glorious venue reflects its long history (there’s also a venue in Shoreditch too) with stunning interiors and 65 leather armchairs with footstools and side tables for luxe comfort. There are also three 2 seater sofas and six double beds with cashmere blankets on offer too. This is the movies but not as you know it. Wonderful!

The Royal Opera House

The dream date, experience world-class opera and ballet at the Royal Opera House in the most sumptuous of settings. With accessible and modern pieces as well as the classics you know and love, this will make for a memorable date.
