Festivals for you and the family

The UK has lots of family friendly festivals on so you and your kids party together, enjoying the live music, delicious food and family friendly activities and workshops on offer.

Here’s a round-up on what’s hot for festivals in the summer of 2017:

Latitude, Suffolk: July 13-16th

Hosted in Henhan Park in Suffolk around Latitude Lake, this festival is for big and little pop fans alike. With Goldfrapp, Mumford and Sons, The Coral, The Divine Comedy and many more bands set to perform for you, it promises to be an incredible 3 day fest. Having won Best Family Festival and Best Family Day Out, they sure know how to entertain kids of all ages including teens too.

With a kids area focused on creative activities, an inbetweeners area (12 +) that features assault courses in the woods, an enchanted garden and a schools programme with access to award winning theatre, dance, music and literature, there’s literally something for everyone.

Lovebox Festival, Victoria Park: 14-15 July

Boasting superstars like Solange on the stage, and Annie Mac, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man, Frank Ocean and many more A lister acts, Lovebox will be one the mamas and papas will love as much as the kids. The festival welcomes families and those under 12 can enter free too.

Citadel Festival, Victoria Park: 16th July

Also held in Victoria Park, East London, this festival is a creative, musical extravaganza for the family. With workshops, talks, debates, family fun and even fashion boutiques on site, this quirky festival is another one to add to the calendar.

Deer Shed Festival 8, Baldersby Park, North Yorkshire: July 21-23

The Wilderwild is the theme for this year and it’s all about exploring the wild this year, building dens and enjoying music with the whole family.

Festivals for All say this about the fest, "This is a very big statement to make but I think that Deer Shed Festival could quite possibly be the best family festival in the UK."There are sporting and science workshops on offer, comedy shows, cinema, food and even under 5 sand pits, soft play and much more on offer.

The Big Feastival-Alex James’ Farm, The Cotswolds: 25-27 August

Jamie Oliver and Alex James’ festival, this is a feel good event combining food and music for all the family. With food heroes like Gizzi Erskine, Antonio Carluccio, Rick and Jack Stein and Ella Eyre, Olly Murs, Embrace and many more scheduled to play for you, it’s going to be amazing!

For the little ones, Paw Patrol, Justin Fletcher and Dick and Dom will be entertaining so expect star-struck kids and a lot of laughs at this brilliant festival.
