Get closer to the life and works of Beatrix Potter with a brand new exhibition at the Victoria and Albert (V&A) Museum.
Born in Kensington, Beatrix Potter is one of the nation's most well-loved authors. Her delightful children's books have found their way into the homes and hearts of families all around the world.
Now you can get closer to this incredible author, who interestingly started her career as an illustrator for botanical journals, and see how her life inspired her work with the latest V&A exhibition.
To mark the 150th anniversary of her birth, the Kensington-based museum showcases some of her best and most well-loved works.
The local area, and its incredible museums - including the V&A and Natural History Museum - influenced her throughout her career. Beatrix Potter would visit these nearby attractions, as well as local galleries, on a regular basis to grow her own understanding of art and the natural world.
London was also the place where she published all of her books, including her most famous and iconic - the Tale of Peter Rabbit.
As well as these temporary works, which will be on display at the V&A from 28 July until April next year, serve to complement the museum's permanent collections.
This family-friendly attraction offers a number of free attractions for visitors, making it the perfect day out for you and all your loved ones. In addition, the V&A is located in the beautiful borough of Kensington, putting it close to both the Natural History Museum and The Science Museum.
As well as this, Kensington Palace is only a short walk away from any of the museums and is perfect for your next family day out in London. With beautiful gardens to explore and the gorgeous palace itself, there is plenty to see and do during your time in the borough.
