Whether you are staying in London just for the weekend or want to stay for a longer stretch, the city is packed full of interesting things to see and do. With this beautiful and intriguing place on your doorstep, you don't have to settle for a standard night out, especially if you are enjoying a romantic trip away.

Although London has many fancy restaurants and fantastic cinemas that give you a complete experience, there is much more to do if you are looking for a date night that offers something a little different.

Backyard Cinema

If you and your other half are movie buffs, but you're looking for something more impressive than what's on offer at your local cinema, then this will be a sure way to romance your date. Backyard Cinema has been growing in popularity among Londoners and its latest theme 'The Last Chapel' sees it exploring Hollywood's anti-heroes.

There are dates throughout the summer period and there's a particular focus on Quentin Tarantino. From Reservoir Dogs to Kill Bill, there are plenty of evenings to celebrate the works of the American director who is known for his unique style. There will also be films inspired Tarantino, with Ryan Gosling's Drive and Brad Pitt's Seven also featuring on the programme.

Swingers Golf

Swingers is a fun take on golf and promises to be a fantastic way to spend a date night. The venue, which has two different courses, gives crazy golf a modern and adult twist. There are cocktails available, as well as pizza and the original Patty & Bun site.

You can buy tickets on the door everyday between midday and 6pm or book ahead online for evening slots.

Sky Garden

For couples looking for a different way to spend an evening in London, how about enjoying a drink or two with the city's stunning skyline for company? Some 155 metres off the ground, Sky Garden offers incredible views of the capital and some of the most iconic landmarks like the Shard or the Gherkin.

Want to make an evening of it? The Fenchurch Restaurant is situated on the rooftop, giving you an uncompromising perspective of the city as you are wined and dined. Expect a range of contemporary British dishes, served in a beautiful manner, and plenty of space to relax in afterwards on the adjacent terrace. However, this isn't your only option. The Sky Pod offers a complete drinking experience, with a choice of cocktails to pick from as you watch the sun set over London. The Darwin Brasserie prides itself on its food theatre, while the City Garden bar gives guests a more relaxed environment to unwind in.

Climb the O2

If you and your other half love being active together, then why not get a brand new perspective on London together? Although the O2 is famed for the big names in music and sport that take to its stage, a growing number of people are heading to the world-class venue to scale the building instead of enter it.

You can choose to do a climb in the middle of the day, giving you brilliant views of the capital on a clear day, at sunset, or in the dark so you can see the city lit up around you. Regardless of which option you pick, it's sure to be a date night that you both remember for a long time!

There is nothing better than enjoying a good meal with your partner, and it's even better if you don't have to prepare it yourself. But many of us get stuck in a rut and end up going to the same places, but a weekend in London is fantastic excuse to try somewhere a little different.

In the heart of Covent Garden, Circus beautifully blends cabaret and Pan-Asian cuisine. Enjoy a cocktail while you relax and watch as fire eaters, dancers and acrobats astound you. Placed in the bustling theatre district, Circus also has a pre-theatre menu so you there's no need to end the evening with a meal, you can head on to watch an incredible show at any of the nearby theatres.
