Is it always alright on the night?
Yes. Even when it seems to be going wrong. A few years ago, we had a wedding in the Palace Suite for 300 people. The Bride and Groom's parents were held up after being involved in a motor accident. I had to make an announcement to let every one know they would be late to the hotel, but all was well with them. It was hard to do, but I made everyone feel at ease until they arrived.
What is the most unusual thing that you have had to do?
One day, a rather distressed guest came to me and asked me to go to the ladies bathroom with her. She had lost her ring down the sink. Luckily, it was still caught in the U-bend part so I managed to unscrew the pipe and retrieve the ring.
Why do you love London?
I am a keen Chelsea supporter and run my own football team.
