EXCELLENCE IN HOSPITALITY ASSURED AT THE ROYAL GARDEN HOTEL
Kensington's five star Royal Garden Hotel has been awarded Hospitality Assured accreditation, the definitive standard for service and business excellence in hospitality, championed by the Hotel and Catering International Management Association (HCIMA) and supported by the British Hospitality Association (BHA).
The Hospitality Assured accreditation promotes and rewards the highest standards of excellence and is the only standard that focuses on the customer experience, measuring the desire of the organisation to achieve the highest level of service possible. Hospitality Assured is endorsed by the British Quality Foundation and meets the criteria in the EFQM Excellence Model.
The rigorous accreditation process examines ten key measurable steps, from business planning and strategy, to training and development of employees, through to delivery of service. It is an ongoing process that provides a series of performance indicators for an organisation to continue to judge themselves on.
Before accreditation by a team of independent assessors led by the HCIMA, Steve Munkley, Executive Chef of the Royal Garden mediated between each of the hotel departments and ensured that excellent working processes were replicated throughout all departments. After two days of intensive examining, which included interviews with 40 members of staff, the hotel achieved over and above the standard level required.
