Conference & Banqueting - Great Taste Awards 2007

The Royal Garden Hotel's five star Conference & Banqueting proves it is the most flexible in the industry, especially when it comes down to creating a great taste' menu

Kensington's favourite five star hotel, the Royal Garden, was faced with one of the biggest Conference & Banqueting challenges when it was appointed to host a glittering awards ceremony for the prestigious Great Taste Awards on 3rd September 2007, the Oscars' of the fine food world: to create a menu to impress the most influential players in the fine food industry using a number of ingredients that have won a gold star Great Taste Award.  Executive Head Chef, Steve Munkley was presented with a list of award-winning products from some of the most excellent, yet smallest producers in the country.

Steve Munkley comments, At the Royal Garden we pride ourselves on our individual approach.  The Great Taste Awards menu showcases exactly what we feel passionate about and what we do best.'

Bob Farrand, Chairman of the Guild of Fine Food adds, I have been blown-away by the efforts the Royal Garden Hotel has gone to in creating this superb menu, it really does showcase the creme de la creme of food in this country.  Steve's approach to this challenge has been exceptional and really does showcase what the Great Taste Awards are all about.

The Royal Garden Hotel is giving visitors to the elegant Park Terrace restaurant the opportunity to try this menu for an exclusive period of 4th September until the end of the month. The menu will be titled the Best of British.

The philosophy behind the hotel's approach to organising events is flexibility.  This attitude runs through all aspects of the hotel, especially when it comes to the exceptional catering, whether they are preparing menus for working lunches, canapes for cocktail receptions or extravagant three-course dinners.

Staff at the Royal Garden Hotel have adapted their culinary expertise to a diverse range of events ranging from catering for International Rugby Teams, the Disney High School Reunion Launch, Sri Lankan weddings and even the National Fish & Chip Awards.   The Conference & Banqueting department of the hotel has recently been nominated for a Hotel Catey award for C&B Department of the Year.

About the Great Taste Awards
Now in its 14th year, the Great Taste Awards has gained widespread recognition among the country's retailers and consumers and is now seen as the benchmark for fine food in the UK. Those products fortunate enough to receive an award cannot only claim to be of the finest quality, but prove it too.

All entries undergo rigorous tests by a specially selected panel of experts, including leading chefs, buyers, food critics and deli owners. But the Great Taste Awards is more than just a competition; it's an accreditation scheme. Products bearing the logo have been independently proven to be of origin, quality and excellence. So if a product achieves gold standard, you can be certain it has done so on merit.
