Discover Kensington Palace

Just a short walk away from our hotel doors, Kensington Palace is a fantastic place to learn about the stories behind some of Britain's most famous monarchs. Beautiful landscaped gardens greet visitors from the moment you arrive, allowing you to take a trip back in time.

This beautiful Royal Residence wasn't always as grand as it is today. Originally built as a modest mansion in 1605, it was purchased by the first Earl of Nottingham in 1619. However, when William and Mary started their joint reign in 1689, they wanted somewhere better than their current home at Whitehall Palace, which was too close to the River Thames. In 1689, they bought the Palace and asked Sir Christopher Wren to expand it.

There are a number of exhibitions, displays and talks that take place throughout the year, helping you get a better insight into the history of this incredible building.

Kensington Palace is just a short walk away from our hotel. You may even be able to see the fantastic building from your bedroom room.
