Serpentine Gallery
Kensington Gardens, W2 3XA
Built in Kensington Gardens as a teahouse, the Serpentine was turned into a gallery in early 1934. With its location in the park, this serene space has one of the loveliest settings in London. Admission is free and the gallery is open 10am-6pm.

Science Museum
The Science Museum remains one of London's best days out for kids, with many interactive activities throughout the museum. Entrance to the main galleries is free, with charges for some exhibitions. Opening hours are 10am-6pm.

Natural History Museum
Cromwell Road, SW7 5BD
Visitors to the Natural History museum can see the vast collections of minerals, plants and animal exhibits with touchable specimens, a dinosaur and a superb T-rex. In the vault is a new gallery space, housing a dazzling selection of gems and crystals. Entrance to the main galleries is free, with charges for some exhibitions. Opening hours are 10am-5.50pm, with last admission at 5.30pm.
